Help Crissy, Pooka and Cricket Get Adopted!

October is Adopt-A-Dog Month – All dogs adopted during the month of October will receive a FREE microchip.

Crissy A333923

Crissy is a spunky little extrovert. Social with people and other kitties and when you hold her, she hugs and kisses you in return. Crissy will do great in a home with children as long as they are playful as she is. Crissy is approximately 2 years.

Pooka A322365

Pooka is a sweet senior who is looking for a calm, quiet household where she can continue to gain confidence. She is a volunteer favorite. She rides well in the car and gets along with other dogs. She prefers a household without small children because of her age.

Cricket A328796

We believe Cricket might be a Cairn Terrier, possibly mixed with a Westie. She has been in foster care and is doing well! Cricket is going to needs a special family that can be patient and give her time to adjust.  She loves playing with toys and making new friends.

Fundraising Event a Huge Success

Our Pouring Wine for Canines and Felines fundraiser was a great success. Lots of $$$ made and 8 cats adopted..so thanks to all: Rons Nursery, The Quarterdeck, the wineries and all of the people that donated silent auction items and joined the raffle. And a big thank you to the community for coming out and supporting the event. This was the biggest event yet. Approximately 450 people helped support their local shelters. Love you all.

Rhonda

(Below are some of the great comments I received.)

From Terry:

Rhonda, you are such a dedicated hard worker! I had to work last night, but for the last week I told a bunch of people to go to this event, so I hope some did and made it better for the cause! You have a heart of gold :-)

From Keely:

Great event! Congrats on the $$ raised and finding some cute kitties homes! I would have taken one, but my doggies would not have been happy! ;-)

From Greg:

Wow! What a great event tonight Rhonda. Congratulations on the great turnout.

From Debby (Feline Network):

YOU ARE INCREDIBLE! We’re all still sort of reeling (happily, of course) over what you were able to put together and that we were one of the beneficiary organizations of your amazing fundraiser. Feline Network has gone round and round for years about our need for some organized fund raising events, but it always comes back to the fact that all our volunteers are spending their time dealing with the cats and kittens in one way or another and we’ve never had anyone with the experience and the drive to put something together. So out of the blue you offer to include us in this benefit and about all we have to do is show up. And when we did, we found out what a truly wonderful event you’d put together. I can’t imagine all the work that went into it — lining up the donations of food, wine, raffle and auction prizes. And we were totally blown away by the attendance. People were lined up at 5:00pm to go in and there was almost no break in the line until close to 7:00 (I can speak directly to that as I was one of those manning the “admission table”).
