Max
Max rules everyone in the family except my wife and myself. He lets the kids walk him and does what they want unless he thinks there is something more important or that they are wrong! He then herds them or drags them where he wants them to go. He is protective of everyone. Even his little pal Rusty. Rusty is a puppy we found on our front porch several months ago. Max alerted us to him and has been his big brother ever since. Rusty was scared of Max for weeks. He is a miniature wirehaired dachshund and some thing else mixed about 10 months old, at least according the vet. Rusty weighs in at 12-13 pounds and is nine inches at the shoulder. Max is still just well over 100 lbs!
Max has really livened up since Rusty came. Their playtime is our own version of pro wrestling. Rusty is like a child trying to lift an adult’s arm pushing on Max’s legs while Max lays down apparently resting. Rusty will finally lift and move the leg only to have Max put it back. They nip and slap until Max tires of it and puts both paws on top of Rusty pinning him to the floor. On occasion Rusty’s head will completely disappear into Max’s mouth. Max decides when play time is over. There is a look or sound and Rusty stops.
